I have not had time to sit down with my high school CT to discuss what she will be teaching next semester and she told me its not set in stone yet anyway. However, I have had many opportunities to talk with my middle school CT about what I'll be teaching in the Spring. I am doing an Ecology unit in the middle school. The topics that she usually covers are energy flow, food webs, photosynthesis, abiotic/biotic factors, biodiversity, and cycles of matter.

I would like to include as many hands-on and cooperative activities as possible. Since the middle schools I'm working in uses the kits, I don't know how much flexibility I'll have to design my own activities. I still need to discuss with my CT how much of the kits I have to use. The school is on block scheduling and the students only have science half a year, so I will get to watch my CT teach Ecology to this semester's science students.
